Emma Sciarretta (She/Her): President
Hi! My name is Emma. I’m in my fourth and final year of the History Honours program. My historical interests lie in the late Middle Ages and Early Modern era, with a growing interest in food history. Some of my favourite courses have been The Medieval World and History on a Plate: Food, Power, and Empire. I am excited to serve as the President of UMHiSA and I look forward to connecting with the history community on campus!

Hello! My name is Emma Fitzpatrick, and I’m excited to once again serve as the UMHiSA vice president! I'm currently in my fifth and final year as a History Honours student. In Addition to history, I’m an English minor. I continue to enjoy all things Canadian history, especially in relation to global history, with a focus on the contemporary. I look forward to continuing to foster the relationship between UMHiSA, its members and all those interested in history!

Kate Stewart (She/Her): Secretary
Hello! My name is Kate. I’m this year's Secretary for UMHiSA. Currently, I’m in the final year of my honours history degree. My area of interest in history is Canadian and British history, more specifically the Victorian era and Antarctic exploration. My favourite course I’ve taken so far is Homemaking and Making Home: Gender, Labour and Domestic Skill, 1860-1920, with Professor Elvins and Professor Warne. In my free time, I enjoy baking, reading, and writing.

Kassidy Ross (She/Her): Treasurer
Hi there! My name is Kassidy and I’m in my fifth year of Honours history with a linguistics minor. My focus is on modern history, particularly modern Middle Eastern history, so I recommend any class taught by Jennifer Dueck! Outside of school, I love cooking and trying new restaurants (which probably explains why I also love food history). I’m looking forward to getting involved with the community and meeting new people this year!

Hi, my name is Kyra and I’m excited to serve as the UMHiSA Events Chair! I’m looking forward to organizing fun events for history students to share their interests and experiences. I am in my final year of an Honours History degree, and my favourite area of study is social and political histories of race and racism in 20th century North America. I love learning new things and meeting new people, and I’m looking forward to connecting with the history community at U of M!
